Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-01-17

Plain-English summary

We use cookies and similar technologies mainly to keep the portal secure, keep you signed in, and make the Service work reliably. We do not use cookies for targeted advertising.

  • Essential cookies are required for login/security and cannot be turned off without breaking the Service.
  • Preference cookies remember basic settings (like UI choices).
  • Affiliate referral cookies remember the referral code you used so rewards and commissions are attributed.
  • Third-party cookies may be set by Steam (login) and payment providers (billing).
  • Analytics may be used to improve reliability — if enabled — but not for ad tracking.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your session (such as being signed in) and improve security and reliability.

We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage (collectively “cookies” in this policy), which behave in a similar way to remember settings and keep the Service functioning.

2. What we use cookies for

  • Authentication & session security (keeping you signed in, protecting against unauthorised access).
  • CSRF / request protection and other anti-abuse safeguards.
  • Preferences (basic UI settings, and other low-risk configuration memory).
  • Operational reliability (load balancing / routing cookies where required by infrastructure).
  • Affiliate attribution (store referral codes to apply customer rewards and affiliate commissions).
  • Analytics (only if enabled) to understand feature usage and improve performance and stability.

No ad targeting: DemoPro does not use cookies for behavioural advertising or selling user profiles.

3. Cookie categories

3.1 Essential cookies (strictly necessary)

These cookies are required for the Service to work. They enable secure login, session handling, and core portal functions. If you block these cookies, the Service may not function correctly.

  • Login/session cookies
  • Security cookies (e.g., CSRF protection)
  • Infrastructure cookies required to route requests safely

3.2 Preference cookies

These remember choices you make, such as UI preferences. They are not used for advertising.

  • Interface preferences (where applicable)
  • Non-sensitive settings that improve usability

3.3 Analytics cookies (optional)

If enabled, analytics helps us understand which parts of the Service are used, spot performance issues, and improve reliability. We do not use analytics to build advertising profiles.

  • Basic usage metrics (page views, feature interactions)
  • Error and performance signals (to detect breakages)

Where required by law, analytics cookies are only used with appropriate consent mechanisms.

3.4 Affiliate referral cookies

When you arrive via an affiliate link or use a referral code, we store a short-lived cookie so we can credit the referral and apply any customer reward during checkout.

  • Referral code value
  • Expiry set to 30 days from first visit

4. Third-party cookies

Some features rely on third parties that may set their own cookies when you interact with them. Common examples:

  • Steam/OpenID login: Steam may set cookies required to complete authentication.
  • Payments/billing: Payment processors may set cookies required to complete checkout and manage subscriptions.

These third parties control their own cookies and privacy practices. You should review their policies if you want details about what they set and why.

5. Analytics

If analytics is enabled, we use it to understand service health and improve the experience (for example, identifying slow pages, broken flows, or features that need polish). We do not use analytics for targeted advertising.

Analytics settings may vary depending on the environment (e.g., marketing site vs portal), legal requirements, and configuration.

6. Managing cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • delete existing cookies
  • block all cookies
  • block third-party cookies only
  • set rules per site

If you disable essential cookies, secure sign-in and portal features may stop working (including viewing evidence, managing members, and billing features).

7. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll take reasonable steps to provide notice. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the updated policy.
